L&D 15 opens it's first monthly art exhibit on Saturday. Featuring a mixture of photographic collages, paintings, and mixed media sculptures, the Remnants of Earth exhibition by Tom Awad investigates both physical and emotional matters. Awad will also be in the shop on Sunday to give an artist talk during this week's Meet Your Maker event.
Venture School, a six week program for entrepreneurs, is coming to the Quad Cities! Ignite Quad Cities, the University of Iowa Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center, and EICC have partnered together to provide entrepreneurs a program designed to accelerate the startup process while increasing entrepreneurs' chances for success. Attend one of two informational sessions next Thursday at the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce office downtown for more information.

Icestravaganza 2015 is next Saturday, January 17! Head out to our new location at the Freight House to watch award-winning ice sculptor, Dawson List, carve ice sculptures live on site. This event will offer FREE indoor kid's activities including a cookie decorating station, crafts, story time, and more. The Farmers Market will remain open until 4 p.m. so you can shop local, too! Don't forget to hop to River's Edge for public ice skating, as well.
Later that evening, come on back for a night of heavy hors d'oeuvres from Front Street Brewery, a live DJ set by Just Let Go, a cash bar with a vodka luge, and good company during the Icestravaganza After-Party. After-Party tickets are only $10 and can be purchased here! The event is located on the second floor of the Freight House and its going to be a good time with a great river view!
