 We have a lot of good news to share today! You may have noticed the front page story in the QC-Times today announcing the release of the Partnership's Downtown Strategic Action Plan. The plan is based on proven market realities, and the reality is, downtown Davenport is poised for significant growth for both residential and commercial development. We've had some great success but there are still big challenges to solve and new potential to harness. The best is yet to come and we're excited to get to work! What better way to spend a summer night than sampling beers to some live tunes? Join River Music Experience as they host their 5th Annual BeeRME for Music this Saturday presented by Sivyer Steel Corporation. Sample drinks from Great River Brewery, Bent River Brewing Company, Dimitri Wine & Spirits, and more! All proceeds benefit music
education programming like Rock Camp USA and Winter Blues. Take a musical journey along the Inca Trail this Saturday when the QC Symphony presents Caminos del Inka at the Figge Art Museum. Surround yourself with South American music as this flute and harp duo perform native tunes from places like Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, and more. Tickets include free hor d'oeuvres and a tour of an art exhibit! The QC Symphony also presents an an educational performance by Swedish folk fiddlers, Swedes on the River, tonight at RME. Keep your eyes open as you pass by the Figge this afternoon! Or stop by to watch as the Figge's Plaza transforms into a green space for Project Greenspace: Street Art on the Plaze. Here's a chance to spend some time outside as you watch street art demos, munch on food grilled by Chef Dave, and listen to live music by Fire Sale! Figge members, don't forget about the upcoming Art Lovers Book Club Wednesday. Learn about two elements and two icons in one exhibit when the Land and Water Exhibit opens Sunday at the German American Heritage Center. Come hear what made the prairie landscape so unique for landscape architect Jens Jensin and water preservationist Ernest Oberholtzer. While there, stop by the Double Expose: Prints of Past and Present Exhibit and see historic and modern iconic Davenport buildings side-by-side! With the end of every month comes Bucktown's Final Friday Series! Shop their wearable fashion show this Friday while enjoying hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and more! Peruse unique shops and studios that also offer creative, usable works of art for sale. Stop by tonight to paint a wine glass or two while relaxing to music and good company. Glasses will be used for their BASH fundraiser in July. After being named one of the Top Ten Touring Acts by Billboard magazine, newcomer Jake McVey performs at the River Music Experience tomorrow night. Hear for yourself why people compare this country act to Brad Paisley and Keith Urban. Or, take in the sounds of intimate instruments, soaring vocals, and confessional lyrics when Blue Bird with Esme Alexis performs Friday.
