An array of vendors, festival food and drinks, and lovely live music await you this weekend for the 43rd Annual Street Fest sponsored by APAC Customer Services! Round up family and friends and come on down to Second Street for firefighter water fights, family activities, and fun! Keep in mind all three parking ramps will be open and accessible.  Calling all runners of the Bix! Make sure you pick up your packets at the Quad-City Times Bix 7 Sports and Fitness Expo tonight or tomorrow at the RiverCenter. This 2-day show features vendors with running apparel, health and wellness information, and more. Don't forget about the Carb It Up Pasta Dinner Friday, too, with tons of pasta, breadsticks, and beverages. Good luck to those running in the race on Saturday. Hop over to Brady Street Pub at 7 a.m. to watch the start.

 Downtown Davenport is rockin' and rollin' this weekend with live music and local specials! Mac's Tavern is celebrating 80 years in business in 2014, so stop by and enjoy a Grinder's Spaghetti dinner from 4 p.m. - 9 p.m. along with live music by Rock Boxx. Saturday they open at 8 a.m. for the race with free live music starting at 10 a.m. A little further down the street, Me & Billy's will also have live music both Friday and Saturday. Don't forget about Bix Bash over at Barrel House 211, too, starting at 8 a.m. Saturday!

 Who doesn't love a good sale? While you're in town, make sure to stop by The Ruby Slipper for their Summer Sale. Receive up to 60% off on tops, shoes, and accessories! A little further down Second Street, Abernathy's is also offering $5 off any purchase of $25 or more on Friday and Saturday. You won't want to miss a chance to shop these unique, local businesses.

Rock, jam, and electronica sounds take over the Redstone Room tomorrow night when Ultraviolet Hippopotamus performs at River Music Experience. This five-piece progressive band is sure to leave an impression! See local talent at RME this weekend, too, when Jared Svoboda performs Friday and Saturday on the community stage to help alleviate the cost of tuition to the prestigious Tisch School of Musical Theatre.

 Have you heard the news? Red, White, and Boom fireworks have been rescheduled for Labor Day! Come on out to Modern Woodmen Park or LeClaire Park in Downtown Davenport, or Schweibert Riverfront Park in Rock Island to watch the largest fireworks display in the area. Keep an eye out for activities to be announced.
