Thursday, May 5, 2016 through May 8th,10am-5pm. Plant and Book Sale. This sale features some wonderful, unique and out of the ordinary plants. Selection includes tropical and perennial plants, flowering hanging baskets, heirloom veggies, grasses, succulents and carnivorous species! Browse a selection of used books that cover all aspects of gardening. Thursday special, Quad City Botanical Center members will receive a 10% discount. Come early for the best selection!

10am, the Children's Garden Mini Mississippi River Exhibit reopens for the season.
10am, the debut of our newly revived garden gift shop - Sprout! From the garden, for the garden! Shop a unique selection of commercial goods and local artist consignment - planters, pillows, umbrellas, jewelry, garden tools, art and more!
1:30pm, join us for a ribbon cutting and garden dedication. In partnership with the Quad Cities Builders and Remodelers Association and the Mississippi Valley Hosta Society, (each organization provided funding, volunteer hours and care) the Quad City Botanical Center proudly presents the debut and dedication of the Secret Woodland Garden and Cottage. Joe Taylor, President/CEO Quad Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau, will join the ribbon cutting to celebrate the location of the headquarters of the American Discovery Trail to the Quad Cities. The Quad City Botanical Center is adjacent to this national east to west trail so also celebrates advancement of the trail.
6pm-10pm, join us for the District of Rock Island's Gallery Hop - admission is free - Meet local artists Trent Foltz, photographer, Joel Ryser, glassworks, Margery Franklin, and Jeri Crabtree, mixed media. Additionally, original pencil drawings by Janet Heinicke are on view through June 25th, 2016. Gift shop and gardens are open for your enjoyment. Craft beer will be available for purchase.
