Friday, September 1, 8 p.m.
Triple Crown Whiskey Bar & Raccoon Motel, 304 East Third Street, Davenport IA
In a momentary break from touring independent musicians, Davenport's latest Moeller Nights event will showcase the stylings of touring comedian Kristen Toomey, co-star of writer/director Dale Zawada's summer comedy Dirtbags.
A veteran of Chicago's comedy-club circuit, Toomey is a regular at the city's Laugh Factory-Chicago and UP Comedy Club, has performed at the Chicago Comedy Expo, and headlined at the Chicago Women's Funny Festival. She is the founder of the all-female comedy collective Hoo HA! Comedy, and also a recent member of the collective Comedians You Should Know. In addition to her stand-up career, Toomey has performed as an actor in the TV series Bad Sides and the feature film Nate & Margaret, the latter of which also earned her a credit as the movie's “stand-up consultant.” According to Chicago magazine, “Watching her is like watching a sitcom waiting in the wings.”
Toomey's Moeller Nights engagement at the Triple Crown Whiskey Bar & Raccoon Motel – with tickets available for $10 – features an opening set by comedian Dave Losso and live music by Christopher Gold. For more information on the evening, visit MoellerNights.com.
