BETTENDORF, IOWA (October 12, 2026) — Bettendorf Community School District is inviting families of incoming kindergarten students to attend Kindergarten Sneak Peek, a special event designed to help children and parents feel confident and excited about the start of school.

Kindergarten Sneak Peek will take place on Wednesday, November 4, 5:30-6:30PM, at all Bettendorf Community School District elementary schools.

  • Grant Wood Elementary — 1423 Hillside Dr
  • Herbert Hoover Elementary — 3223 S. Hampton Dr
  • Mark Twain Elementary — 1620 Lincoln Rd
  • Neil Armstrong Elementary — 3311 Central Ave
  • Paul Norton Elementary — 4485 Greenbrier Dr

During the event, children will have the opportunity to explore one of our schools, meet teachers and staff, and participate in fun, age-appropriate activities. Parents will learn more about daily routines, kindergarten readiness, and how the district supports students during this important transition.

“Starting kindergarten is a big milestone for both students and families,” said Mr Elkin, interim superintendent.

“Kindergarten Sneak Peek gives families a welcoming first look at our schools while helping students feel comfortable, excited, and ready for their first day.”

The event also provides families the opportunity to:

  • Tour classrooms and school spaces
  • Learn about transportation, meals, and daily schedules
  • Ask questions and connect with school staff
  • Receive important information for the upcoming school year

Kindergarten Sneak Peek is open to families who plan to register a child for kindergarten in the 2026-27 school year. Families are encouraged to bring their incoming kindergarten students.
