I want to thank the Chairman and his staff for their tireless work in putting together the Chairman’s mark before us today.

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds, Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg and other state leaders are previewing Registered Apprenticeship Appreciation and Awareness Week and encourage Iowans to explore registered apprenticeship opportunities. Registered Apprenticeship Appreciation and Awareness Week runs from November 13-17, 2017.

National Registered Apprenticeship Week is November 13-19. As part of a national and State of Iowa initiative,  a Registered Apprenticeship Fair will showcase opportunities in the Quad-City area from 2-4:30 p.m., Thursday, November 16, at IowaWORKS – 902 W. Kimberly Road, Suite 51 – Davenport.  

House Bill3649 Passed Both the House and Senate with Broad Bi-Partisan Support

SPRINGFIELD… Today, State Representative Tony McCombie’s (IL-71st) chief co-sponsored legislation HB3649, also known as the Debt Transparency Act, became law after the House of Representatives and Senate voted to override the governor’s veto.

The Illinois Department of Employment Security has enhanced its services at the American Job Center office and will hold an Open House on Monday, November 20.

The last time Congress modernized the tax code, it was 1986.

That’s more than 30 years ago.

In the generation since, the tax code has grown out of control.

It’s been a dream come true for accountants and lobbyists. But it’s a nightmare for most Americans.

This has helped the powerful and the well-connected. But it’s hurt American workers. It’s hurt American industry. And it’s hurt America’s ability to compete with the rest of the world.
