Contest offers students a chance to win $1,000

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 6, 2017) – Iowa students have until March 24 to enter the Money Smart Kid essay contest and compete for the chance to win $1,000 to help boost their college savings. The statewide essay contest is sponsored by the Iowa Bankers Association.

The Better Business Bureau serving Greater Iowa, Quad Cities and Siouxland Region is pleased to announce that Silver Key Tattoos is approved and accepted for BBB Accreditation. BBB Accreditation is voluntary and businesses must meet and maintain BBB standards.

Over the next decade, we will be working to create millions of jobs in new and growing industries. Unfortunately, the gap between the skills needed for these jobs and the skills of today’s workforce could leave many of these new positions unfilled. (DES MOINES) – Today, Iowa Department of Transportation Director Mark Lowe joined Gov. Branstad and Lt. Gov. Reynolds at their regular Monday morning press conference. As a result of two related Volkswagen (VW) settlements, the state of Iowa is expected to receive approximately $21 million in environmental mitigation trust funds over the next ten years set aside specifically for projects that reduce emission of nitrogen oxides (NOx).

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Dave Loebsack announced today that he will be touring various manufacturing companies throughout the state on his “Made in Iowa” tour. At each stop, Dave will take a tour of their facility to learn more about the company, as well as hear from local employers about their concerns.

Press Conferences will be held, Tuesday, February 28, in several Iowa Cities to discuss the proposed worker’s compensation bill and share information on HSB 169 and ways that we see how it may affect working families.

This bill has been proposed in a House subcommittee, (HSB 169), and it attacks working families by cutting benefits to Iowans injured on the job.
