SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS (March 11, 2019) — Four years after its debut, a new statewide study from regional school superintendents finds Illinois’ serious teacher shortage continues to worsen, especially in school districts in central and southern Illinois.  

IOWA CITY, IOWA (March 6, 2019) — More than 40 University of Iowa students are featured in the UI's annual "Dare to Discover" street banner campaign which launched shortly after the new year in downtown Iowa City. ROMEOVILLE, ILLINOIS (March 6, 2019) — Kylie J Wymer of Rock Island, Illinois, was named to Lewis University's Dean's List for the 2018 Fall Semester. ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (March 5, 2019) — Edison and Washington Junior High Schools in Rock Island competed in the Regional Math Counts competition at Bettendorf Middle School on February 6. Edison took first place with the team of: Jackson Bennett, Charlie Conner, Avery Flactiff, and Ricardo Mendoza. Six of the Edison team members were in the top ten with Jackson Bennett taking 1st place overall.

ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA (March 5, 2019) — The Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) has announced a joint media tour in Iowa with the Iowa Association for Career and Technical Education (Iowa ACTE). The two associations will visit eight career and technical education (CTE) programs between Monday, March 11 and Thursday, March 14.

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 4, 2019) — There will be a public hearing tomorrow, Tuesday, March 5, to discuss the use of controversial seclusion rooms in Iowa’s public schools. The hearing will be from 9:00 to 10:00AM in the State Board Room, Second Floor, Grimes State Office Building, East 14th Street and Grand Avenue, Des Moines. DUBUQUE, IOWA (March 1, 2019) — University of Dubuque held a December Commencement Ceremony on Thursday, December 13, in Heritage Center's John and Alice Butler Hall on campus.
