DAVENPORT, IOWA (June 25, 2020) — Attention Middle School to College Students: River Action and Fresh Films are hosting the Environmental Film Series Student Video Competition, a short video competition.

We are challenging students to create a 3-5 minute video on local environmental issues related to the Mississippi River.

On June 22 and 23, Russian and American diplomats met in Vienna to discuss New START, the nuclear arms-reduction treaty, which expires next year. The treaty provides for an optional five-year extension. Alternatively, the parties could negotiate a new agreement, as has happened several times in the past.

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 24, 2020)  The State of Iowa has announced the closure of two Test Iowa sites this week. The Sioux County site will close later today when testing concludes at 6PM. A second site in Wapello County will close tomorrow, Wednesday, June 24, at 6PM. We are actively pursuing clinic sites in both counties and testing remains available through local health-care providers.
