DES MOINES, IOWA (May 1, 2025) — On Tuesday, April 29, Governor Kim Reynolds’ appointee to the Iowa Board of Regents, Kurt Tjaden, has been confirmed by the Iowa Senate.

Tjaden is an experienced business executive, having served in senior roles at several US companies, including Procter and Gamble and Gateway Inc. He also served as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Pure Fishing Inc, as well as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Whirlpool Asia.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 28, 2025)  Governor Kim Reynolds and Senate Republicans are announcing a compromise for an overall budget of $9.417 billion for Fiscal Year 2026. These targets include the education funding agreement from earlier in session.

GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN (April 24, 2025) — A recent American Enterprise Institute report does a good job of identifying and describing long-term trends in student performance using national and international assessment data.

However, a review finds that the report then falls short in its attempts to analyze and understand the factors driving these trends.
