Directed by CON-APP - Glenn Kaino & Afshin Shahidi with

Napoleon & Tabitha D'umo and Produced by Kerith Lemon

Los Angeles, CA (June 25, 2013) - Herb Alpert, founder of A&M Records and one of the most successful trumpet performers in pop history is releasing his newest single and music video Puttin' On The Ritz on Tuesday, June 25th.   The music video will premiere on VEVO and the single will be available for a $1.29 download on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Spotify and more. Alpert delivers a refreshing contemporary interpretation of the classic song first released in 1930, inspired by the 'swanky' Ritz Hotel. The track's groove inducing beat married with the classic vocals by Lani Hall and an iconic trumpet solo would compel anyone to get up and dance along.

"I always felt that if a song is fun to play then it would be fun to listen to. This recording seemed to me that it had international appeal, and we wanted to make a music video that conveyed the sense of fun that you hear." Stated Herb Alpert, "We had a wonderful team that collaborated to bring the music video to life, Glenn Kaino added his brilliant creative vision and Tabitha and Napoleon were the perfect choice since Lani and I admire their choreography on So You Think You Can Dance."

The Puttin' On The Ritz music video is a creative collaboration between Alpert, artist Glenn Kaino and filmmaker Afshin Shahidi with choreographers Napoleon & Tabitha D'umo from So You Think You Can Dance and produced by Kerith Lemon. One long camera shot follows the lead dancer on a musical journey motivating everyone to join the promenade. The music has an undeniable charm and that coupled with an energetic and intricate dance routine creates a magical pied-piper like scene illustrating the energy and delight of the popular song. The video features musicians Lani Hall, Bill Cantos, Hussain Jiffry and Michael Shapiro and stars dancer Vincent Noiseux, top 20 of the first season of So You Think You Can Dance Canada, alongside corps dancers like Kherington Payne and others that have been seen on So You Think You Can Dance, America's Best Dance Crew, Dancing with the Stars, This is It, Step Up and more.

"The song is magical, anyone who hears is it compelled to dance." said Kaino, "Inspired by the contagious nature of the music, we imagined a world where everyone was down to jump in and start dancing whenever they heard the beat, and then told that story in one long, enchanted scene."

Not only is Puttin' On The Ritz the newest featured track on Alpert's album Steppin' Out, release slated for late Summer 2013, but the song and choreography from the music video will be featured in the Zumba Fitness World Party video game which has a launch date of October 2013

Herb Alpert Bio

Herb Alpert began playing trumpet at the age of eight and after serving in the army and a short stint as an actor, he returned to music.  He rose to fame with the Tijuana Brass with hits such as, The Lonely Bull, Tijuana Taxi, Spanish Flea, This Guy's in Love With You and Rise.  He alongside business partner Jerry Moss founded A&M Records, one of the most prosperous artist-owned companies ever established.  Among it's greatest successes were the Carpenters, Cat Stevens, Joe Cocker, Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66, The Police, Sting and Janet Jackson.

Alpert also tackled other forms of media, exhibiting his abstract expressionist paintings and sculptures and co-producing a number of Broadway successes, including Angels in America and Jelly's Last Jam. www.RiverRootsLive.com

(DAVENPORT- IA) River Roots Live, the Quad Cities premiere music festival, is excited to announce the 2013 lineup featuring headliners The Wallflowers, Shooter Jennings, BoDeans and Vintage Trouble. As always, Ribfest rib vendors from across the country will be serving up delicious barbeque throughout the weekend, too.

River Roots Live will be held on Friday, Aug. 16 and Saturday, Aug. 17 in Davenport's LeClaire Park on the banks of the beautiful Mississippi River. The festival is free both nights before 5 p.m. and admission is only $5 after 5 p.m.

Additional outstanding national acts fill out the festival including The Big Wu, Miles Nielsen & The Rusted Hearts, The Dead Leaves Travelin' Band, David Mayfield Parade, Jessica Hernandez and the Deltas, Chicago Farmer, Old Shoe, Magic Box, and OSG. The Quad Cities' own talent will also be on display when The Multiple Cat, Frank F. Sidney's Western Bandit Volunteers, and Busted Chandeliers take the stage. One additional band will be announced soon for Friday's lineup.

Grammy Award winners and Americana icons, The Wallflowers, headline Saturday night. The band formed in 1990, and since then has made quite an impact in the music world. The Wallflowers album, Bringing Down the Horse, released in 1996, became a certified quadruple platinum by the RIAA. Their huge singles including One Headlight, 6th Avenue Heartache, Three Marlenas, and The Difference remain staples of radio stations across the U.S. With their brand new album Glad All Over under their belt and some time on the road including a tour with Counting Crows, Jakob Dylan and the boys will be ready to make Saturday night, a night to remember.

Friday's co-headliner, Shooter Jennings, debuted on the music scene with his album Put The O Back In Country in 2006 and from then on has had a style and vision all his own. In 2008, he formed his own brand and record label, Black Country Rock. Shooter can also be heard as a DJ on SiriusXM's Outlaw Country channel.

BoDeans will also be headlining on Friday night. Founder of BoDeans, Kurt Neumann, classifies his band as "a truly American Band" or in other words, blues, rock, country and soul all in one sound. In the BoDeans most recent album, American Made, listeners can find a rendition of Bruce Springsteen's "I'm on Fire". John Alagia, who has produced music for Dave Matthews and John Mayer, produced and mixed American Made.

Fresh off their tours with The Who and The Rolling Stones, Vintage Trouble will take the stage Saturday night! This band will blow crowds away with their self described "Live-wired, straight-shootin, dirty-mouth'd, pelvis-pushing juke music." This is a must-see show! The band has toured all over the world, received the Classic Rock Award for "Best New Band of 2011" and also has recorded an MTV The Studio Sessions with Tony Visconti. Vintage Trouble has performed on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Conan and also Jimmy Kimmel Live.

It wouldn't be River Roots Live without Ribfest BBQ! This isn't your neighbor burning some hotdogs and calling it BBQ. Our vendors travel the nation and represent the top tier of professional BBQ cookers in the United States. So loosen your belt, and we suggest trying every single one of 'em throughout the weekend.

The West Music Jr. Jam Tent returns to offer fun educational workshops for kids and performances from the River Music Experience's Rock Camp bands.

With well over 20,000 attendees, River Roots Live has continued to grow every year since its inception in 2005. For complete details regarding band bios and festival activities, please visit RiverRootsLive.com.

Somber and sincere, Catacomb Fires is the latest, greatest release from Des Moines' very own Diamonds For Eyes. Joshua Putney's evocative vocals march down deep below the surface of the earth into some sort of crevasse where all of your darkest fears become very real. Putney's foreboding aura is meshed with the well-written, reflective sound of the rest of the band as they carry this gem of an album from start to finish like a mid-summer night's parade.
No Lament For True Lovers kicks off with a radio alert that says police are investigating a case in which a 23-year old newlywed has been found dead in a West Des Moines cellar. Featuring husband and wife band-mates, this video will string you along for the ride as Kristen Putney (bassist) ensnares her husband into a journey of life and death.
