QCSO principal cellist Hannah Holman will captivate with the rich and haunting cello soliloquies of Ernest Bloch’s Schelomo, the final work of his Jewish Cycle. The King of Rock and Roll’s signature sound is alive and well in Michael Daugherty’s Dead Elvis featuring QCSO principal bassoonist Benjamin Coelho.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (October 7, 2022) — The Quad City Symphony Orchestra (QCSO) is one of thirty orchestras taking part in the League of American Orchestras’ Virginia B Toulmin Foundation Orchestral Commissions Program. The unprecedented national consortium ensures that new works by women composers, each commissioned by the League, will be infused in orchestra seasons to come, with multiple performances throughout the country.

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE (October 3, 2022) — Reba McEntire is extending her REBA: Live in Concert tour following a string of sold-out stops on the fall leg. Reba announced today fourteen additional dates set for spring of 2023, featuring special guests Terri Clark and The Isaacs. The spring run will kick off March 9 in Jacksonville and will conclude at NYC’s Madison Square Garden, marking Reba’s first time playing the iconic venue.

IOWA CITY, IOWA (September 27, 2022) — The inaugural film for the inaugural Refocus Film Festival is Bones and All, directed by Luca Guadagnino, adapted for the screen by University of Iowa Writers Workshop alum David Kajganich (Suspiria, A Bigger Splash, The Terror) from the novel of the same name written by Camille DeAngelis.

Effective September 14, 2022, the organization will be known as Common Chord and use the tag line “More Music. More Community.”

DAVENPORT, IOWA (August 24, 2022) — The Mississippi Valley Blues Society (MVBS) will once again present the annual Blues Fest, September 16-17 on the banks of the Mississippi in beautiful and historic LeClaire Park, Davenport, Iowa.

Following a successful 2021 Bluesfest, MVBS was able to build on this success to offer this year’s exciting lineup of traditional and contemporary award-winning Blues artists, such as Kevin Burt, Billy Branch, Vanessa Collier, and Bernard Allison.
