WASHINGTON DC (January 16, 2020) — Senator Charles "Chuck" Grassley, President pro tempore of the Senate, aided in the selection process of the new Architect of the Capitol, Brett Blanton. As the Architect of the Capitol, Blanton will lead the agency and oversee the maintenance, operation, development, and preservation of the United States Capitol Complex. Blanton was sworn in this morning by Chief Justice John Roberts.

DES MOINES, IOWA (January 16, 2020) — On Thursday, January 16, at 11AM, in the State Capitol Rotunda, Governor Kim Reynolds will sign a proclamation declaring January as “Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention and Awareness Month.” The Governor has been actively involved in this issue for four years and serves as an honorary board-member for the Network Against Trafficking and Slavery.
