May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

The month of May gives us an opportunity to increase public awareness about the challenges faced by those struggling with mental illness. It also encourages us to consider reforms to policies that affect these individuals as well as their friends and family members.

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 20, 2019) — People who open up their homes and their hearts to children in need are truly special. They provide stability, comfort, and safety to kids who otherwise wouldn’t have it. They offer support, guidance, and, most of all, love. The time and effort they willingly give is not only a blessing to the children they care for, but also their communities.

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 17, 2019) — The Iowa Supreme Court issued its decision today in Iowa State Education Association (ISEA) and Davenport Education Association (DEA) vs State of Iowa, Iowa Public Relations Board, Mike Cormack, Jamie Van Fossen and Mary Gannon. The Supreme Court decided 4-3 to uphold the legislative changes to Chapter 20.
