Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate Sending Postcards to 50,000 Iowans to Help Them Register to Vote

DES MOINES, IOWA (September 22, 2021) — Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate is helping Iowans register to vote. His office is mailing a postcard to approximately 50,000 Iowans who are eligible to vote, but not registered. The postcard includes instructions on how to register and a QR code the recipient can use to register to vote online.

Iowa Surpasses 500,000 Newly-Registered Voters Since January 2015

DES MOINES, IOWA (July 27, 2021) – Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate announces more than 500,000 Iowans have registered to vote since he took office on January 1, 2015. Most of those voters, 321,535 out of 504,113, registered by using the state’s online voter-registration system that launched in January 2016 through a partnership between Sec Pate and the Iowa Department of Transportation.

Gov Kim Reynolds Requested $222 Million in Pandemic Relief to City Government

DES MOINES, IOWA (July 9, 2021) — Governor Kim Reynolds has requested $222 million in pandemic relief from the American Rescue Package of 2021 (ARPA) that will allow 930 city governments to access federal funding starting today. The Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund will provide $19.53 billion nationally to support tens of thousands of non-entitlement units of local government (NEUs), which are local governments typically serving a population under 50,000.
