For Iowa History Month, I want to recognize the role Iowa’s veterans have played in our history.

For instance, in the Civil War, Iowa sent over 75,000 soldiers to fight for the Union, the most per capita of any state.

Iowa has kept that tradition of service, and I often have the pleasure of meeting our veterans.

WASHINGTON DC (March 3, 2020) — Senate Finance Committee Chairman Charles "Chuck" Grassley (R-IA) and Ranking Member Ron Wyden (D-OR) are calling on stakeholders to submit data and findings on factors contributing to poor maternal-health outcomes in the United States. The Senate Finance Committee leaders are also requesting specific, evidence-based solutions to address those factors and improve maternal health.

Q: Why is farm safety an issue important to you?

WASHINGTON DC (February 27, 2020) — Representative Dave Loebsack questioned Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Andrew Wheeler about the recent 10th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling that found the EPA exceeded its authority in issuing small-refinery exemptions (SRE) to companies who had not received waivers in the prior year. The Court concluded that the EPA may only “extend” existing exemptions and cannot grant a new waiver to a company that had not consistently held one.
