DES MOINES, IOWA (March 19, 2020) — The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) has been notified of 6 additional positive cases of Iowans with COVID-19, for a total of 44 positive cases. 642 negative tests have been conducted at the State Hygienic Lab.

WASHINGTON DC (March 19, 2020) — Senate Finance Committee Chairman Charles "Chuck" Grassley (R-IA), along with Senate Majority Whip John Thune (R-SD) and Sens Tim Scott (R-SC), Rob Portman (R-OH), Tom Cotton (R-AR), and Mitt Romney (R-UT), today released tax-policy recommendations for the “Phase 3” congressional response to the economic impact of the coronavirus.

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 17, 2020) — Governor Kim Reynolds signed SF2408, legislation that creates emergency measures and supplemental appropriations for key government services to combat the spread of COVID-19. 

WASHINGTON DC (March 17, 2020) — Senate Finance Committee Chairman Charles "Chuck" Grassley today released the following statement regarding an announcement from the Department of the Treasury that individuals and corporations may defer tax payments to the IRS for up to 90 days without incurring interest or penalties. Taxpayers will still be required to file but payments may be deferred.

IOWA CITY, IOWA (March 16, 2020) — Representative Dave Loebsack announced today that in the interest of public safety and to help slow the spread of COVID-19, or Coronavirus, he will be closing his physical offices in Iowa City, Davenport, and Washington DC, effective March 17, 2020.
