DES MOINES, IOWA (December 1, 2020) — COVID Recovery Iowa has launched free Virtual Santa visits just in time for the holidays. These safe and convenient visits are an ideal alternative as Iowans find new ways to honor holiday traditions during the pandemic.

The Virtual Santa visits run through December 22. People of all ages are encouraged to sign up on the COVID Recovery Iowa Facebook page under Services and schedule a visit.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (December 1, 2020) — Join Naturalist Becky Baugh from the Wapsi River Center on Tuesday, December 8, 1PM, to learn about many wild edibles in your neck of the woods. We will focus on foraging basics, foraging safety, identifying plants, and preparing wild edibles. You will learn about five wild edibles available this season.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (December 1, 2020) — Join us for a discussion on safe medication practices on Monday, December 7, 1PM. Learn about the importance of following the directions for both prescription and over-the-counter medications. We will talk about disposing of medications safely, storing medicines properly, keeping track of medications, and avoiding the misuse of medication.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (November 19, 2020) — Join us Tuesday, December 1, 6:30PM, on Zoom, as we trace the origins of St Nicholas Day from Turkey to Germany and around the world. Presented by the German American Heritage Center.
