The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is delaying the effective date of the Organic Livestock and Poultry Practices final rule by 60 days to May 19, 2017. These actions are being taken in accordance with guidance issued Jan. 20, 2017, to ensure the new policy team has an opportunity to review the rules.

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will host a three-hour class for anyone interested in being certified to sell morel mushrooms legally within the state of Iowa.

Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa today met with Robert Lighthizer, President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee to serve as United States Trade Representative. The Finance Committee, where Grassley is a senior member and former chairman, will handle the nomination. Grassley made the following comment on the meeting.
