And Then There Were None at Playcrafters - September 8 thru 17.

Friday, September 8, through Sunday, September 17

Playcrafters Barn Theatre, 4950 35th Avenue, Moline IL

Based on the famed mystery writer's most successful novel – with more than 100 million copies sold and Publications International recognition as the seventh-best-selling title of all time – Agatha Christie's 1939 And Then There Were None was adapted by Christie herself into a 1943 West End stage hit, with its 1944 Broadway run lasting 426 performances.

Christie's suspenseful classic finds 10 strangers lured to an island mansion by an unknown host, and subsequently marooned by a violent storm. Over dinner, a record suddenly begins to play, and its voice accuses everyone in attendance of harboring a guilty secret. After one of the guests is later found murdered, the tension in Christie's play escalates as the survivors realize the killer is among their number, and is preparing to strike again, and again, and again … .

Playcrafters' latest production is directed by Cynthia Safford, who also appeared in the venue's summertime drama Good People, and its cast included a blend of veteran and first-time Playcrafters performers: Mike Bennett, Jim Driscoll, Emily Edens, Marissa Franks, Robert Greve, Sondra Karben, David Lane, John Donald O'Shea, Alexander Richardson, Yvonne Siddique, and Jim Strauss.

And Then There Were None runs Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m., and more information and tickets are available by calling (309)762-0330 or visiting Playcrafters.com.
