Boasting what will doubtless be the most heavily populated cast that area audiences have seen all year and will see for the remainder of 2025, Dare to Dream Jr.: A Disney Musical Revue runs at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts October 24 through 26, this presentation by Young Footliters Youth Theatre featuring many of your favorite Disney songs and an ensemble of 98 young talents.
Dare to Dream Jr. is an hour-long musical revue that follows an eager group of trainees on their first day at the fictional Walt Disney Imagineering Studio. As the group sets out to help each other discover their dreams, they also work together to explore the power of dreams to unite, inspire, and make anything possible. Drawing from a century of beloved Disney films, Dare to Dream Jr. features songs appearing for the first time in a Disney stage musical, including fan-favorites from The Princess & the Frog, Coco, Encanto, and Frozen II. This musical revue is a thrilling mix of contemporary songs, timeless classics, and brand-new medleys that are sure to surprise and delight Disney lovers of all ages.
Serving as director for Dare to Dream Jr.: A Disney musical is Evan Hilsabeck, who previously helmed the Young Footliters' production of Disnery's My Son Pinocchio Jr., with Jaci Visser acting as music director and she, Katie Colletta, and Shelby Zukin collectively responsible for the show's choreography. Additional members of Hilsabeck's creative team include: costume designer Jackie Allen; stage manager Lindy Rublaitus; assistant stage managers Andrew Bryant, Red Schneider, and Peggy Somerville; sound designer Tim Moffitt; lighting designer Reese Morgan; and set designer Kent Reynolds.
