The Young Footliters' “Finding Nemo Jr." at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts -- June 27 through 29.

Friday, June 27, through Sunday, June 29

Coralville Center for the Performing Arts, 1301 Fifth Street, Coralville IA

One of the most adored hits in the Disney/Pixar canon will be brought to delightful stage life at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts from June 27 through 29 when the student talents of the Young Footliters present Finding Nemo Jr., a 60-minute adaptation of the Oscar-winning animated comedy boasting new music by the songwriting team of Kristen Anderson-Lopez and double EGOT winner Robert Lopez.

As in the beloved film, Finding Nemo Jr. finds Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish, living in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. With the help of lovable characters such as optimistic Dory, laid-back sea turtle Crush, and the supportive Tank Gang, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey toward finding each other, and themselves.

Directing Finding Nemo Jr. for the Young Footliters is Uri Lessing, with members of the creative team including: assistant director Shay Lilienthal; music director Jessica Palmer; choreographer Sasha Tyler; stage manager Peggy Somerville; lighting designer Reese Morgan; set designer Marianna Coffey; and costume designer Jackie Allen.

The show's title character is portrayed by Jack Hegouet, with Sean Miller playing Nemo's dad Marlin, Elise Fesler as the forgetful Dory, and Grey Linley as the supremely chill sea turtle Crush. Completing Finding Nemo Jr.'s ensemble are more than three dozen young area talents: Graham Anderson; Natalie Bell; Elise Beres; Sophie Bergman; Harriet Blau; MacLaren Cargill; Quincy Cargill; Rory Carlton; Brooke Cavanh; Meadow Conard; Grace Dalmasso; Rose Dalmasso; Elizabeth Damon; Alyssa Denneny; Hayes Dowden; Ryder Ehlers; Annalyn English; Surina Farris; Chandler Felton; Harrison Frost; Hadley Fruin; Rawan Hassan; Lucy Jens; Alex Keely; Nolan Keely; Lily Landolt; Nora Langfitt; Henry Lenhart; Layla Lipper; Olive Maiers; Mason McNeely; Arlette Menzel; Maple Miller; Everly Porepp; Ellah Rees; Claire Reimer; Sydney Roethler; Ted Somerville; Mona Sotillo; Brooks Sulhoff; Nina Tsilosani; Jovie Vlasich; and Naomi Weber.
