A dazzling, visually rich celebration of fascinating felines and the artists who love them, the Figge Art Museum exhibition Cats! can currently be viewed in the Davenport venue's third-floor gallery, and on October 23, a Scholar Talk on both the exhibit and the animal will be presented by Dr. Amy Freund and Dr. Michael Yonan, co-authors of the Journal18 article “Cats: The Soft Underbelly of the Enlightenment."

A traditional Mexican holiday is again being celebrated in high style at Davenport's Figge Art Museum through the exhibit Day of the Dead, with museum patrons, through November 30, invited to reflect on why this Mexican tradition endures, and how it is gaining new resonance across the United States.

On October 16, guests of Davenport's Figge Art Museum are invited to watch a recorded fashion program in the second-floor John Deere Auditorium, with historical costumier Ninya Mikhaila's fascinating program Stitching up History - Clothing in NGA Portraiture being held in conjunction with the current exhibition The Golden Age: Featuring Northern European Works from the National Gallery of Art.

Featuring presidential portraits and an array of images showcasing the University of Dubuque's evolving campus, all reminders of the rich tradition and enduring mission that continue to shape UD today, Stewards of Our Story: A Legacy of Leadership at the University of Dubuque will be on display in the university's Bisignano Art Gallery through October 31, the exhibit and its opening reception aptly timed for the 2025 Homecoming celebration.

On October 2, patrons of Davenport's Figge Art Museum are invited to learn more about C.A. Ficke, the founder of the Davenport Municipal Art Gallery (now the Figge), with historian Dr. William Roba in C.A. Ficke & the Birth of a Museum, a special Thursdays at the Figge presentation sponsored by Chris and Mary Rayburn.

Original works by nearly 100 juried regional and national artists will be on hand at the September 20 and 21 Riverssance Festival of Fine Art, with the 37th Lindsay Park event, hosted by Quad City Arts, boasting a children’s art-activity tent, food and beverage vendors, live music, and the presenting of Carolyn Krueger with the prestigious Harley Award, an honor given to an individual who has affected the arts and artists in the Quad Cities during their lifetime.

A series of beautiful and expressive serigraph prints by Black Hawk College alum Jae Florence Corales are on display in the college's ArtSpace Gallery through 26, with Pearl of the Orient Seas showcasing new works by the Filipino visual artist, graphic designer, and filmmaker currently based in Augusta, Georgia.

On September 25, art lovers are invited to Davenport's Figge Art Museum to hear artist Kristin Quinn reflect on the works in her exhibit Luminous Flux Paintings from the Watershed, with Figge Co-Senior Curator Joshua Johnson leading the conversation on this arresting collection designed to capture the sensation of the memory of a place – its mood, its texture, its atmosphere – through imagery and abstraction.

Culminating on the weekend of August 16 and 17, 2025, five artists from four different countries completed outdoor public art murals in Davenport and Bettendorf, Iowa, and Rock Island, Illinois.

An art project spanning more than 20 years and including some 150 photographs, he photography exhibit Huang Qingjun: Family Stuff opens the 2025-26 art-show season at Galesburg's Carl Sandburg College, this showcase through October 11 a series of deeply personal works by the artist who has been featured by the New York Times and the BBC.
