QC Environmental Film Series Returns with Ocean-Themed Films and ENVIRO Connect

DAVENPORT, IOWA (November 17, 2025) — River Action is thrilled to announce the 2026 QC Environmental Film Series (QCEFS), returning with an inspiring ocean-themed line-up designed to connect the Quad Cities community with the wonders of our planet’s waters. This season, attendees will experience compelling films, ENVIRO Connect networking opportunities, and reflection speakers to deepen engagement and spark meaningful action.

River Action and The Camera Corner Launch Winter Photo Contest to Inspire Outdoor Passion

DAVENPORT, IOWA (November 14, 2025) — This winter, River Action, in partnership with The Camera Corner, invites photographers of all ages and skill levels to bundle up, head outside and capture the winter beauty of the Quad Cities area. The “Winter Outdoor Nature Photo Contest” kicks off December 1 and runs through January 12. All proceeds support River Action’s mission to protect, restore, and celebrate the Mississippi River and our surrounding riverfront communities.

River Action's Earth Day Cleanup 2025 at Sylvan Island

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (April 15, 2025) — Show up for our planet this Earth Day, April 22, 9AM-12PM, at Sylvan Island in Moline, Illinois, where River Action will host a clean-up spruce-up of Sylvan Island and connecting trails.

Bags and gloves will be provided. Long pants and sturdy shoes recommended.

Please bring your own re-usable water bottle, sunscreen, and bug-spray!

River Action’s Eddy Scholarship Applications Now Open

In partnership with BITCO Insurance Companies, River Action will award three $1,000 scholarships to students demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental stewardship.
