DAVENPORT, IOWA (March 30, 2023) — On Thursday, April 6, 6PM, at Eastern, come celebrate National Poetry Month with the Davenport Public Library as we host local poet and St Ambrose professor Emily Kingery. Her work has been widely published in journals and has been selected for several honors and awards in poetry and prose.

Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities has built over 100 homes locally for those in need. Join us on a QC Made tour of the Restore and warehouse to see how they repurpose products and streamline the construction process.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (March 23, 2023) — On Thursday, March 30, 6:30PM, Fairmount, Robin C Abbott will present a program based on her book, Sound Advice: How to Help Your Child with SPD, Autism, and ADHD from the Inside Out. In this program, personal stories of a pediatric occupational therapist are integrated with current science on why some children struggle to learn and adapt.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (March 22, 2023) — Did you know installing attractive landscapes such as rain gardens on your property can help improve water quality and reduce stormwater run-off? On Wednesday, March 29, 6PM, Eastern, and Monday, April 24, 3PM, Fairmount, Davenport’s Clean Water Manager Amy Kay and local homeowner Gina Haddock will walk attendees through what a rain garden is, how to plan and maintain one, and the benefits of adding this eye-catching water-quality feature to any home.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (March 21, 2023) — Join us on Wednesday, March 29, 6PM, Eastern in recounting the Civil Air Patrol history in the Quad Cities and nationally. It opened a new chapter in aviation with the establishment of the United States Air Force. As we reflect on the last 75 years, we’ll examine some of the most significant accomplishments as we look toward an exciting future.

This program is great for teens and adults of all ages.

A Death Café is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives, or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session. All are welcome to attend any/all sessions and can participate as much as they are comfortable.
