Central College Welcomes Six New Board Members

PELLA, IOWA (July 19, 2023) — Central College announced changes to its Board of Trustees with the addition of six new members and the retirement of three individuals.

Local Student-Athletes at Central College Receive Academic Awards from American Rivers Conference

PELLA, IOWA (June 28, 2023) — The spring sports American Rivers Conference all-academic team was announced in June and 57 Central College student-athletes were honored for their academic and athletic excellence.

Lucas Wendel of Le Claire is on the Men's Golf team and earned a 3.85 GPA majoring in biology.

Layken Bytnar of Bettendorf is on the Women's track and field team and earned a 3.99 GPA majoring in biology.

PELLA, IOWA (June 21, 2023) — Central College is proud to announce this year's recipients of full-tuition Kuyper Scholarships, Pella Corporation Engineering Scholarship, Rolscreen Foundation Scholarships and the Thomas Ross Smith Scholarship — the most prestigious awards granted at the college.

Central College Represented at Iowa Academy of Science Annual Meeting

PELLA, IOWA (June 1, 2023) — Central College students presented at the Iowa Academy of Science Annual Meeting in April on the University of Northern Iowa campus. The presentation, "Using DNA Barcoding to Study the Bee Diversity in Big Rock Park," focuses on identifying the diversity of bees around Big Rock Park in Pella, Iowa.

PELLA, IOWA (May 22, 2023) — Central College hosted a weeklong Celebration of Undergraduate Research and Creative Inquiry event to showcase the many projects by Central students during the 2022-2023 academic year.

PELLA, IOWA (05/22/2023) — Nikolas Zarlatanes, from Taylor Ridge, Illinois, Class of 2024, will begin a summer internship with Kent State University in Kent, Ohio.

Central College of Pella, Iowa, is a private, four-year liberal-arts college. Central is known for its academic rigor and leadership formation and for cultivating diversity of thought and culture through the arts and sciences, professional fields of study, and experiential learning.
