PELLA, IOWA (May 15, 2023) — Central College announces Andrew Green, professor of political science, has been appointed as director of institutional research, a newly created role.

PELLA, IOWA (April 28, 2023) — Central College's 23rd annual Scholarship Dinner April 20 honored donors, students and families who were seated together to share a meal, conversation and program. Over 500 attended the event.

Central boasts more than 235 donors who have established endowed scholarships and 2,180 who contributed to the Journey Scholarship Fund last year.

Carson Albrecht, Class of 2025, from Bettendorf (52722) received the Froelich Scholarship.

PELLA, IOWA (April 21, 2023) — Central College psychology faculty traveled with nineteen Central students and recent alumni who will present research at the 95th Annual Midwestern Psychological Association, April 20-22, in Chicago, Illinois.

PELLA, IOWA (March 27, 2023) — Russell Goodman, professor of mathematics at Central College, presented research revealing the theoretical lowest percentage of the popular vote that a presidential candidate would need to win a presidential election.

PELLA, IOWA (February 23, 2023) — Heather Burr Isaacson, a 1997 Central College graduate, will speak at the college's Commencement ceremony at 2PM, Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Ron and Joyce Schipper Stadium. Isaacson's passion to support students and help them attain a college education inspires all who hear her journey and successes.

PELLA, IOWA (February 15, 2023) — Central College students gain career-building skills during Spring 2023 internships. This semester 41 students are interning with area businesses:

Caleb Evans of Davenport (52803) has an internship at Hopkins Roofing in Pella, IA.

Garrett Finley of De Witt (52742) has an internship at Central College Athletics Department in Pella, IA.

Allison Miller of Geneseo (61254) has an internship at Blush and Simple Treasures in Pella, IA.

PELLA, IOWA (February 7, 2023) — Central College President Mark Putnam has announced the appointment of Karmen Ten Napel as vice president for student development and dean of students. Ten Napel has served as the dean of students at Morningside University in Sioux City since 2014 and as associate vice president for student life and Title IX coordinator since 2019. She begins her duties at Central Thursday, June 1.

PELLA, IOWA (January 30, 2023) — Central College recognized 432 students named to the Fall 2022 Dean's List.

The honor is awarded to full-time students who achieve a 3.5 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale while taking twelve or more graded credit hours for the semester.

PELLA, IOWA (January 30, 2023) — Nikolas Zarlatanes, a Strength and Condition major in the Class of 2024 from Taylor Ridge, Illinois, presented a research project at the Midwest Sports Analytics Meeting in November. Zarlatanes collected research information as a Dean's Scholars on key performance indicators throughout summer conditioning in Division III football athletes. The data was collected through the use of Catapult GPS/accelerometers.

PELLA, IOWA (October 14, 2022) — Hailey Glover of Eldridge, Iowa, is one of 36 students in the Symphonic Wind Ensemble at Central College for the 2022-23 academic year. Glover plays the Euphonium. The Symphonic Wind Ensemble is an auditioned instrumental group and one of the premier ensembles on campus. Brad Kampe, lecturer of music, is the new band director.
