DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 7, 2019) — Update from Davenport Fire Marshal Jim Morris concerning the incident this morning at The Current.

Fire crews were on scene Thursday morning at The Current in the 200 block of North Main Street in downtown Davenport.

Jim Morris, Fire Marshal says around 10:15AM, an employee inadvertently mixed two chemicals that weren’t compatible. The odor was contained to a small room. Crews quickly evacuated the building.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 5, 2019) — The National Weather Service has issued an ice storm warning for the Quad Cities beginning at noon today through 6:00AM Wednesday, February 6.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 4, 2019) — You may have noticed the signage already up  in downtown Davenport for the upcoming snow emergency but I thought I would forward to you again the Snow Emergency notice from Public Works.

DAVENPORT IA (January 31, 2019) — As the day gets underway, please be advised that Public Works has posted an update to the City website. Here are a few highlights:

Subzero temperatures are expected to last through the evening, and snow is also likely beginning around noon today, Thursday, January 31. Road conditions could be slick. An inch or more of snow is predicted to fall between 11AM and 11PM. Crews will respond by clearing Posted Snow Routes when the snow starts to fly.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (January 30, 2019) — Here is the latest update from Public Works. Thank you for getting the information to your audiences as soon as possible.

CitiBus will be using City vans and sedans, with minimal passenger capacity, to run regularly scheduled bus routes effective immediately.

The change in service capacity is due to the inability of diesel buses to run in these subzero temperatures.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (January 30, 2019) — The Davenport Public Library's three locations will all close at 5:30PM today, Wednesday, January 30. All three locations will also open late tomorrow, Thursday January 31, at Noon.
