DES MOINES, IOWA (July 27, 2021) – Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate announces more than 500,000 Iowans have registered to vote since he took office on January 1, 2015. Most of those voters, 321,535 out of 504,113, registered by using the state’s online voter-registration system that launched in January 2016 through a partnership between Sec Pate and the Iowa Department of Transportation.

DES MOINES, IOWA (July 15, 2021) — Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate presented a National Association of Secretaries of State Medallion Award to his Chief Cyber Officer Jeff Franklin, in recognition of Franklin’s service to state government and efforts to enhance Iowa’s election security. DES MOINES, IOWA (July 1, 2021) — Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate announces survivors of assault are now eligible to enroll in the Safe at Home address confidentiality program overseen by his office. Previously, participants included survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, trafficking, and stalking. The expansion of the program is part of a new law signed by Governor Kim Reynolds on June 17.

Iowa’s Safe at Home program provides a substitute address for survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, trafficking, and stalking. The program is administered by the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office.

Registered voters who did not participate in the 2020 general election will soon receive the mailing to confirm their residential address. Those who do not respond will continue to be listed as inactive voters until they participate in an election or update their voter registration.
