MOLINE, ILLINOIS (March 15, 2021) — WQPT, Quad Cities PBS will air “Stout Hearted: George Stout and the Guardians of Art.” The documentary was directed by Kevin Kelley, and produced by Marie Wilkes of New Mile Media Arts (a non-profit organization based in Iowa City, Iowa) on March 18, 9PM.

Directed by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, Hemingway examines the visionary work and turbulent life of Ernest Hemingway, one of the most influential writers America has ever produced.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (February 16, 2021) WQPT invites viewers to join in virtual screenings of The Black Church: This Is Our Story, This Is Our Song. The documentary is a moving four-hour, two-part series from executive producer, host, and writer Henry Louis Gates Jr, the Alphonse Fletcher University Professor at Harvard University and director of the Hutchins Center for African and African American Research.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (January 19, 2021) WQPT, Quad Cities PBS, is revisiting their original fundraiser, “The Auction is at Your House.” The new event is an on-air, on-line auction airing on WQPT January 28 and 29, 8-10PM, while the on-line part of the auction is live now at wqpt.org/auction.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (September 10, 2020) The Black Box Theatre in downtown Moline presents Three Viewings by Jeffrey Hatcher, opening on Thursday, September 24. “We decided to visit Jeffrey Hatcher again,” said co-founder Lora Adams. The Black Box opened the theatre four years ago with Murderers by Hatcher and recently produced Turn of the Screw.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (August 27, 2020) WQPT will host a 45 minute screening of the Ken Burns documentary The Gene: An Intimate History, on Thursday, September 17, 7:30PM, at the Blue Grass Drive In as part of the Quad City Engineering and Science Council’s “Teacher’s Night Out” series.

The Bluegrass Drive In Theatre is located just off of Hwy 61 in Blue Grass, Iowa at 774 W Mayne Street.
