MOLINE, ILLINOIS – WQPT - Quad Cities PBS in partnership with the QC Vet Center will be hosting screenings of Ken Burns’ documentary “The Vietnam War” at Western Illinois University – Quad Cities on the following dates and times:

            Monday, September 25 at 7:00 pm (Episode 1: Déjà Vu covering 1958-1961)

            Tuesday, September 26 at 7:00 pm (Episode 2: Riding the Tiger 1961-1963)

MOLINE, IL -- Dr. Joseph Rives, Vice President for Quad Cities and Planning, and Scott Brouette, Assistant Director of Student Services at Western Illinois University have made a generous gift of support to WQPT, a media service of Western Illinois University. Their $100,000 gift will be used to continue and expand WQPT’s ability to tell local stories and provide educational outreach to life-long learners in our region.

MOLINE, IL – WQPT, Quad Cities PBS invites veterans who served in the United States military, in any capacity, from World War I through the present, to share their story of service as a part of the Library of Congress’ Veterans History Project. 

The interviews will be held Saturday, July 29 from noon to 3:00 pm during The Wall That Heals exhibit on the campus of Western Illinois University – Quad Cities, 3300 River Drive, Moline, Illinois.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS – The Black Box Theatre in downtown Moline presents the Midwest premiere of “I Love You, Because,” a contemporary musical version of Jane Austin’s novel “Pride and Prejudice.” The production features lyrics by Ryan Cunningham, and music by Joshua Salzman.

MOLINE, IL – WQPT’s political coverage on “The Cities with Jim Mertens” received a second place award from the Iowa Broadcast News Association on Saturday night for their series of political discussions during the 2016 election cycle.  WQPT also took home a third place award for their “Snapshots” program titled “Iowa-Illinois Memorial Bridge.”
