MOLINE, ILLINOIS (December 11, 2019) — In April 2013, Mary Pruess was named General Manager of WQPT, Quad Cities PBS. During her tenure, WQPT moved offices, restructured master control and programming, and continued with a focus on the creation of local television-programming, to be aired along with PBS programming. They’re back at the Black Box Theatre in The Man with Bogart’s Face: A Radio Play. In short, a man whose identity we never know has his face altered to look like Humphrey Bogart and is involved in a Maltese Falcon-type caper. MOLINE, ILLINOIS (September 9, 2019) — The Black Box Theatre in Downtown Moline is proud to host ComedySportz and their All New Musical Match coming Saturday, September 14 at 7PM. Doors will open at 6:30 pm.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (August 26, 2019) — WQPT, PBS for the Quad Cities region will begin airing Ken Burns’ new eight-part 16.5-hour film Country Music, beginning Thursday, September 26 at 8PM. The film is directed by Ken Burns, and produced by Burns and his long-time collaborators Dayton Duncan and Julie Dunfey. The series will stream on station-branded PBS platforms, including PBS.org and PBS apps beginning September 15.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (August 1, 2019) — The Black Box Theatre opens the multiple Tony Award-winning musical Assassins. With a book by John Weideman and Stephen Sondheim’s music and lyrics the “panoramic story of our nation's culture of celebrity and the violent means some will use to obtain it, embodied by America's four successful and five would-be presidential assassins. Bold, original, disturbing and alarmingly funny, Assassins is perhaps the most controversial musical ever written.”
