MOLINE, IL – WQPT, Quad Cities PBS begins airing WTTW’s flagship nightly newsmagazine Chicago Tonight. Chicago Tonight celebrated 30 years on the air in April 2014. The program will air on WQPT Monday through Friday at 1:00 and 5:30 pm.
MOLINE, IL – WQPT announces its annual PBS KIDS Writers Contest empowering children in grades K-3 to celebrate creativity and build literacy skills by writing and illustrating their own stories.
Stories, which must be the original work of the child, may be non-fiction, fiction, prose or poetry. Entries, postmarked by Friday, March 30 can be dropped off at WQPT's office at Western Illinois University's riverfront campus, or mailed to WQPT, 3300 River Drive, Moline, Illinois 61265.
MOLINE, ILLINOIS – The Black Box Theatre located at 1623 5th Avenue, Moline, Illinois is holding auditions for their 2018 season on Saturday, January 20 from 1-3 at the theatre. Those planning on auditioning should prepare 16-32 bars of music and bring sheet music and perform a monologue no longer than 1 minute.

MOLINE, IL – The Black Box Theatre is excited to announce that Broadway and television star Gene Weygandt will be performing at the theatre on October 20 and 21 in A.R. Gurney’s “Love Letters.” Mr. Weygandt will share the stage with Lora Adams. Weygandt played the “Wonderful Wizard of Oz” in “Wicked” in Chicago and on Broadway.
MOLINE, ILLINOIS – WQPT - Quad Cities PBS in partnership with the QC Vet Center will be hosting screenings of Ken Burns’ documentary “The Vietnam War” at Western Illinois University – Quad Cities on the following dates and times:
Monday, September 25 at 7:00 pm (Episode 1: Déjà Vu covering 1958-1961)
Tuesday, September 26 at 7:00 pm (Episode 2: Riding the Tiger 1961-1963)
