DES MOINES, IOWA (May 1, 2025) — Governor Kim Reynolds has signed HF 782, an Act relating to electronic devices in schools, including student access during instructional hours and school safety plans and including effective-date provisions.

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 1, 2025) — On Tuesday, April 29, Governor Kim Reynolds’ appointee to the Iowa Board of Regents, Kurt Tjaden, has been confirmed by the Iowa Senate.

Tjaden is an experienced business executive, having served in senior roles at several US companies, including Procter and Gamble and Gateway Inc. He also served as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Pure Fishing Inc, as well as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Whirlpool Asia.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 28, 2025)  Governor Kim Reynolds and Senate Republicans are announcing a compromise for an overall budget of $9.417 billion for Fiscal Year 2026. These targets include the education funding agreement from earlier in session.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 22, 2025) — Governor Kim Reynolds has signed SF 619, a disaster assistance bill, into law. 

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 21, 2025) — Governor Kim Reynolds ordered all flags in Iowa to be lowered to half-staff immediately until sunset on the day of interment for His Holiness Pope Francis who died on April 21, 2025 at Vatican City. He was 88-years-old.

Gov Reynolds’ order is issued in conjunction with President Trump’s proclamation to lower the United States flag for the same amount of time.
