DES MOINES, IOWA (April 28, 2020) — In a letter dated April 27 and sent to Vice President Mike Pence — the head of the White House Coronavirus Task Force — Governor Kim Reynolds, US Senators Joni Ernst and Charles "Chuck" Grassley, along with Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig, asked for additional support from the administration for the state’s pork producers.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 27, 2020) — Today, Governor Kim Reynolds signed a new proclamation continuing the State Public Health Emergency Declaration until May 27, 2020. The proclamation loosens social distancing measures in 77 Iowa counties effective Friday, May 1, and continues other restrictions until 11:50PM on Friday, May 15, 2020.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 27, 2020) — On April 26, The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) was notified of 384 additional positive cases for a total of 5,476 positive cases. There have been an additional 1,356 negative tests for a total of 30,614 negative tests to date, which includes testing reported by the State Hygienic Lab and other labs.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 24, 2020) — Today, the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) has been notified of 521 additional positive cases for a total of 4,445 positive cases. There have been an additional 2,190 negative tests for a total of 27,528 negative tests to date, which includes testing reported by the State Hygienic Lab and other labs.

According to IDPH, an additional 11 deaths were also reported, 278 are currently hospitalized, and 1,604 Iowans have recovered.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 24, 2020) — Governor Kim Reynolds signed a new proclamation continuing the State Public Health Emergency Declaration. The proclamation permits health-care providers to begin the process of resuming some elective surgeries and procedures through a phased approach, permits farmers markets to begin limited operations with appropriate public-health precautions, and provides other relief to Iowans affected by this disaster.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 22, 2020) — The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) has been notified of 107 additional positive cases for a total of 3,748 positive cases. There have been an additional 522 negative tests for a total of 24,496 negative tests to date, which includes testing reported by the State Hygienic Lab and other labs.

According to IDPH, an additional 7 deaths were also reported, 272 are currently hospitalized, and 1,428 Iowans have recovered.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 22, 2020) — On April 21, Governor Kim Reynolds launched the Test Iowa Initiative to expand testing capacity to limit the spread of COVID-19 in Iowa. The state is partnering with Nomi Health and its subsidiary DOMO which has already launched a similar initiative in the state of Utah.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 20, 2020) — The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) has been notified of 257 additional positive cases for a total of 3,159 positive cases. There have been an additional 1,013 negative tests for a total of 22,661 negative tests to date, which includes testing reported by the State Hygienic Lab and other labs. Of these new cases, 27 can be attributed to Tyson employees and 19 to National Beef employees.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 16, 2020) — Today, the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) has been notified of 146 additional positive cases for a total of 2,141 positive cases. There have been additional 660 negative tests for a total of 18,543 negative tests to date, which includes testing reported by the State Hygienic Lab and other labs.

According to IDPH, an additional 7 deaths were also reported, 175 are currently hospitalized, and 987 Iowans have recovered.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 16, 2020) — Today, Governor Kim Reynolds signed a new proclamation continuing the State Public Health Emergency Declaration and implementing additional measures to protect residents, workers, and the public in RMCC Region 6.
