DES MOINES, IOWA (March 20, 2020) — The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) has been notified of one additional positive case of Iowans with COVID-10, for a total of 45 positive cases. 765 negative tests have been conducted at the State Hygienic Lab.

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 20, 2020) — Governor Kim Reynolds issued an additional State Public Health Emergency Declaration effective immediately providing additional regulatory relief to Iowans impacted by this public health disaster. She will hold a press conference at 2PM; details on that are forthcoming.

The declaration relaxes a number of restrictions and regulations and provides relief from other statutes and state regulations:

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 19, 2020) — The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) has been notified of 6 additional positive cases of Iowans with COVID-19, for a total of 44 positive cases. 642 negative tests have been conducted at the State Hygienic Lab.

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 18, 2020) – Governor Kim Reynolds signed SF2357, a bill which expands the roles of physician assistants in Iowa, enabling them to better serve patients.

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 17, 2020) — Governor Kim Reynolds signed SF2408, legislation that creates emergency measures and supplemental appropriations for key government services to combat the spread of COVID-19. 

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 17, 2020) — Governor Kim Reynolds issued a State of Public Health Disaster Emergency activating the public health response and recovery aspects of the State Disaster Emergency Plan effective at noon today.

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 16, 2020) — Governor Kim Reynolds held a press conference to provide an update to the state of Iowa on current 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) mitigation efforts.

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 16, 2020) — Governor Kim Reynolds today announced assistance for workers and employers impacted by layoffs related to COVID-19.  The guidance includes information for employees filing for unemployment insurance claims, as well as information on programs available for employers.

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 14, 2020) — The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) has been notified of one additional positive case of an Iowan with COVID-19, for a total of 18 positive cases. The individual is an older adult age 61-80, and a resident of Dallas County.

Additionally, IDPH has determined, based on the new COVID-19 case and the announcement this evening of community spread in Omaha, Nebraska, there is now community spread in our state.

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 13, 2020) — The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) has been notified of one additional positive case of 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in an Iowa resident, for a total of 17 positive cases. This individual was tested in Nebraska, and is now recovering under isolation. Testing at Iowa’s State Hygienic Laboratory today has indicated no additional positive cases. All positive cases in Iowa at this time are travel related.
