DES MOINES, IOWA (October 23, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds ordered all flags in Iowa to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise on Thursday, October 24, to sunset on Friday, October 25, in honor and remembrance of Jo Ann Zimmerman, Iowa’s first female lieutenant governor elected in 1986.

DES MOINES, IOWA (October 22, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds joins the Iowa Department of Human Services (DHS) in celebrating 20 years of the Healthy and Well Kids in Iowa (Hawki) program. Hawki provides free or low-cost health-coverage to children and families whose income is too high to qualify for Medicaid, but too low to afford individual or employer-provided health care.

DES MOINES, IOWA (October 22, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds announced that Iowa’s classrooms are more connected today than ever before. One-hundred percent of K-12 students in Iowa now have access to high-speed broadband on par with the Federal Communications Commission’s minimum goal of 100 kbps per student, opening the door to expanded opportunities for teaching and learning in Iowa’s classrooms.

Gov Reynolds attends Tri-State Governor’s Conference

DES MOINES, IOWA (October 15, 2019) — The Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) today announced that $10 million in Workforce Housing tax credits (WHTC) are now available for qualified housing projects in the 10 Iowa counties under Presidential Disaster declaration.

DES MOINES, IOWA (October 15, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds announced the formation of the Governor’s FOCUS Committee on Criminal Justice Reform (Fueling Ongoing Collaboration and Uncovering Solutions). The working group will build on the governor’s efforts over the last year to reduce criminal behavior and afford individuals a second chance.

DES MOINES, IOWA (October 11, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds will make an announcement regarding criminal-justice reform during her remarks at the NAACP’s 7th Annual Iowa Summit on Justice and Disparities in Ankeny on Tuesday, October 15. Next week’s announcement will build on her efforts over the last year to reduce criminal behavior and afford individuals a second chance.
