DES MOINES, IOWA (August 27, 2019) — Today, Governor Kim Reynolds announced the first 13 recipients of the new Future Ready Iowa Employer Innovation Fund, a matching grant designed to help employers carry out solutions to help their employees achieve post-secondary training and education. The first round of Employer Innovation Fund Grants will distribute over $400,000 in funds to employers across the state.

DES MOINES – Today, Governor Kim Reynolds and Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig sent a letter to Environmental Protection Agency Secretary Andrew Wheeler outlining the damaging effects of the 31 new small refinery waivers (SRE’s) undermining the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS). Gov Reynolds and Sec Naig also extended an invitation to Sec Wheeler to come to Iowa and see the devastating impact of these exemptions firsthand.

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 20, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds has selected Major General Benjamin J Corell as the new Adjutant General for the Iowa National Guard. Corell recently returned from a deployment to Kuwait where he commanded the 34th Infantry Division “Red Bulls” in support of Operation Spartan Shield. This was Corell’s sixth deployment overseas since September 2000.

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 18, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds ordered all state flags in Iowa to be lowered to half-staff on Monday, August 19, 2019 until sunset in honor and remembrance of fallen Lyon County Sheriff's Deputy, Stephanie Schreurs. Deputy Schreurs, a 24-year veteran with the department, died from injuries sustained in the line of duty on Tuesday, August 13, 2019.
