DES MOINES, IOWA (August 16, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds testified at a field hearing of the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, chaired by Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA). Gov Reynolds outlined Iowa’s efforts on workforce development through the Future Ready Iowa Initiative, and called for greater federal government flexibility in programs aimed at self-sufficiency.

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 16, 2019) – Lieutenant Governor Adam Gregg completed the nine-month Hunt-Kean Leadership Fellows program, the nation’s premier bipartisan education policy fellowship. Gregg is one of nineteen state leaders from across the country who completed the program. Governor Kim Reynolds was a participant in the inaugural cohort of Hunt-Kean Leadership Fellows in 2015.

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 14, 2019) — In conjunction with Drinking Water Day yesterday at the Iowa State Fair and in celebration of 2,000 State Revolving Fund (SRF) water-quality loans made to Iowa communities, Governor Kim Reynolds, and Lieutenant Governor Adam Gregg announced the Home Town Water Tower Contest. The contest challenges Iowa communities to show off their hometown pride in a short video for a chance to win a one-of-a-kind water tower, designed by a local artist.

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 13, 2019) — Today, Governor Kim Reynolds announced former Deputy State Auditor Andy Nielsen of Ankeny as the winner of the 2019 Outstanding CPA in Government Career Contribution Award. Nielsen received the award from the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) at the organization’s national conference in Washington, DC on August 12, 2019.

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 13, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds announced the appointment of Elizabeth Johnson of Altoona to serve as Executive Director of the Iowa Civil Rights Commission. Johnson, currently an administrative law judge at Iowa Workforce Development, begins her new role on August 26, 2019.

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 12, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds today announced her appointment of Tamra Roberts as a district court judge in the Seventh Judicial District. 

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 10, 2019) — The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that it was granting 31 small-refinery waiver-exemptions from the biofuel blending-requirements under the 2018 Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS). Governor Kim Reynolds released the following statement:

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 8, 2019) — Today, Governor Kim Reynolds issued a proclamation extending existing proclamations of disaster emergency for flooding and severe weather that began in March. This extension allows state resources to be utilized to respond to and recover from the effects of the severe weather for an additional 30 days to Sept. 8, 2019.
