The early Midwestern life of American icon Walt Disney, and the globe-spanning empire he inspired, will be explored on September 25 in the Mockingbird on Main presentation Marceline: A Love Story, the Davenport venue's evening with Peter Whitehead, Creative Director of Missouri's Walt Disney Hometown Museum.

Over the span of three days, two touring tributes to the chart-topping, Grammy-winning rockers of the Eagles (Hotel California, One of These Nights) will deliver three celebratory concerts at a pair of Illinois theatrical venues, with Rock Island's Circa '21 Dinner Playhouse hosting 7 Bridges: The Ultimate Eagles Tribute on September 23, and Mt. Carroll's Timber Lake Playhouse presenting afternoon and evening performances of Heartache Tonight's Eagles Tribute Concert on September 25.

An eagerly awaited autumnal tradition will get the blood pumping on September 25 and 26, as the weekend brings with it the Moline TaxSlayer Center's Active Endeavors Health & Fitness Expo on September 25 followed by the annual Quad Cities Marathon, presented by TBK Bank, on September 26, the latter a Boston Marathon qualifier and the only such event in the country to incorporate five races, four cities, three brides, two states, and one island.
