IOWA CITY, IOWA (September 29, 2022) — More than 260 current University of Iowa students are members of the 2022 Hawkeye Marching Band, one of the "top ten college marching bands in the nation," according to CNN Headline News and one of the Big Ten Conference's marching bands whose halftime show is "worth the watch," according to Sports Illustrated.

IOWA CITY, IOWA (September 19, 2022) — The University of Iowa continues to attract high-achieving students.

This fall's incoming first-year class has topped previous records with an average high-school grade-point average (GPA) of 3.82. The average high-school GPA for the classes of 2025 and 2024 were 3.81 and 3.78, respectively.

It is also the third-largest incoming first-year class on record at 5,178 students, after 5,643 in the fall of 2016 and 5,241 in the fall of 2015.

IOWA CITY, IOWA (August 23, 2022) — The Carver College of Medicine recently staged its annual Arnold P Gold Foundation White Coat Ceremony for first-year students beginning their medical education at the University of Iowa. The event welcomed the College's class of 2026 and it represented the first time these future physicians would recite the Oath of Hippocrates, calling attention to the importance of the doctor-patient relationship.

IOWA CITY, IOWA (June 21, 2022) — Ngonyo Mungara of Muscatine, Iowa, was among the more than 4,000 undergraduate students at the University of Iowa named to the dean's list for the 2022 spring semester.

Mungara is a third-year student in Iowa's College of Education and is majoring in Education Studies and Human Relations.

Dean's list status was earned by 714 first year undergraduates during the 2022 spring semester at Iowa, only 1,268 second year students, only 1,559 third year students, and only 2,045 fourth year students.

IOWA CITY, IOWA (06/15/2022) — More than 1,000 undergraduate students at the University of Iowa named to the President's List for the 2022 spring semester.

President's-List status was earned by only 73 first-year undergraduates during the 2022 spring semester at Iowa; only 199 second-year students; only 285 third-year students; and only 464 fourth-year students.

The President's List was established in the fall of 1983 to recognize academic excellence.
