The public is invited to tour the historic Hauberg Mansion, during its 50th annual "Winter in Bloom" holiday open house. Volunteers have played a huge part this year in preparing the mansion for the holiday season and each room has been beautifully decorated. New activities have been added to the event, including a photo booth room and free horse and carriage rides (1-5pm, with sign up for spaces starting at 12:30).

The historic Hauberg Estate Terraced Gardens (originally designed by landscape architect, Jens Jensen in 1909) will be receiving some much-needed attention this Thursday, 9/21/17

For years, no one seemed to know exactly where the original blueprints of the historic Hauberg mansion in Rock Island, IL were being stored. With their mission to fully restore the mansion, carriage house and surrounding landscape, the Friends of Hauberg Civic Center Foundation were especially interested in discovering their whereabouts.

The Rock Island Art Guild is returning to its roots in hosting an outdoor painting event at Hauberg Estate—the same place where, in 1968, the newly-formed guild held one of its earliest outdoor shows. Artists will be stationed at several locations on the Hauberg grounds in order to capture the estate from different angles. Guests are welcome to stroll the beautiful landscape and watch each artist work while enjoying summertime concessions.

On Friday, 5/26/17, Davey Tree Service of Eldridge, IA will donate its time and expertise to the Hauberg Estate by removing trees close the house which are inhibiting the flow of water away from the basement. Once the trees have been removed, Valley Construction of Rock Island, IL, will grade the soil around the home so that rain water will flow away from the structure properly.
