DUBUQUE, IOWA (October 22, 2019) — From the creators of Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea comes a new theatrical adaptation of the classic works of Rudyard Kipling reimagined through modern eyes. Jungle Book will transport audience members from the urban jungle to relive Mowgli’s childhood in the jungles of India through immersive sound, eye-popping video, shadow-play, and original music.

DUBUQUE, IOWA (October 7, 2019) — The University of Dubuque’s Department of Fine and Performing Arts will present The Comedy of Errors at 6PM, Friday-Saturday, November 8-9, and 2PM, Sunday, November 10, in Babka Theatre, Heritage Center. The production will be directed by Greg Wolf, director of theater.

DUBUQUE, IOWA (October 4, 2019) — The University of Dubuque Wind and Jazz ensembles will present their joint fall concert, “Wanderlust: The Desire to Travel,” at 3PM, Saturday, November 2, in Heritage Center’s John and Alice Butler Hall.

The concert will be under the direction of Cassandra Bechard, wind ensemble conductor, and Nolan Hauta, jazz-ensemble conductor. Be prepared to take a journey with the ensembles as they explore numerous cultures, time-periods, and styles of music.

DUBUQUE, IOWA (September 30, 2019) — A free screening of We Are Still Here will be shown at 6PM, Tuesday, October 8, in Room 146, Charles and Romona Myers Center on the University of Dubuque campus. The screening will be followed by a discussion of the documentary with Valerian Three Irons, one of the film’s producers.

The screening is open to the public.

 

DUBUQUE, IOWA (September 23, 2019) — University of Dubuque Heritage Center continues its seventh annual Live at Heritage Center Performing Arts Series with The Passing Zone at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, in John and Alice Butler Hall.

DUBUQUE, IOWA (September 18, 2019) — A free screening of Chasing Coral will be shown at 7PM on Thursday, September 26, in Hadley Auditorium, Jackaline Baldwin Dunlap Technology Center on the University of Dubuque campus. Doors open at 6:30PM.

The screening is open to the public. It is sponsored by the UD Web of Life student group, which aims to help raise awareness of environmental problems and solutions.

DUBUQUE, IOWA (September 12, 2019) — A Homecoming Cabaret will be held at 3PM, Sunday, October 20, in Steffens Hall, Charles and Romona Myers Center, on the University of Dubuque campus. The event will feature students from the UD Department of Fine and Performing Arts, including singers from the UD Choir, under the direction of Kristen Eby, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities.

DUBUQUE, IOWA (September 4, 2019) — Award-winning journalist and bestselling author Alex Kotlowitz will present the Michael Lester Wendt Character Lecture at 7PM, Monday, October 21, in John and Alice Butler Hall, Heritage Center on the University of Dubuque campus.
