With Roots Music Rambler calling the outfit "a folksier version of Fleetwood Mac, largely because of the diverse roster of musical talent throughout the group and the harmonies," the touring sextet Kindred Valley headlines a September 28 concert at Davenport's Raccoon Motel, Reveler Experiences raving about the group's "thoughtful Americana sound that’s a little bit rock, a little bit folk and a little bit Appalachian ... . The harmonies are sweet and the lyrics are heartfelt and authentic."

Currently touring in support of his eight studio album released this past January, beloved Americana singer/songwriter Langhorne Slime brings his "The Dreamin' Kind" tour to Maquoketa's Codfish Hollow Barn on September 27, No Depression stating that, with his latest recording "Slim has never sounded so polished," adding that "his authenticity is never in question."

A Cannes Film Festival Palme d'Or winner that also netted the 2017 BAFTA Award for Outstanding British Film, director Ken Loach's critically revered I, Daniel Blake enjoys an October 1 screening at Davenport's Figge Art Museum, this contemporary drama the first in the Free Film at the Figge series showcasing distinguished, award-winning works that depict the essential roles that persistence and perseverance play in our everyday lives.

Presented in celebration of one of the most influential and beloved entertainers in American history, the September 25 “Dolly Parton Day” at the Rock Island Public Library's Southwest Branch will boast a screening of 9 to 5, the star's film debut and among the most widely adored comedies of the 20th century.
