Described by Rolling Stone as performing “heartland rock in the vein of working-class heroes John Mellencamp and Tom Petty, but distinguished by a power-pop sheen,” the Cerny Brothers – Sherrard, Illinois natives Robert and Scott – play Davenport's Raccoon Motel on May 27 and 28 in support of their most recent album Looking for the Good Land, a work No Depression called “an artifact in realism and artistic translation of all the feelings that there are no words for.”

Composed of Dave “Dixie” Collins, Dave “Shep” Shepherd, and Ramzi Ateyeh – the former two having co-founded the group nearly a quarter-century ago – the fired-up sludge-metal musicians of Weedeater headline a May 21 concert at Davenport's Raccoon Motel, the group's most recent album Goliathan described by Angry Metal Guy as “an intoxicating examination of Southern culture and arguably the most tongue-in-cheek approximation of their sludgy, stoner sound thus far delivered.”

Continuing the Redstone Room's concert-event programming under the "All Sweat Original Series" banner, in which local songwriters are paired up alongside outstanding area musicians to act as their own personal backing band, the Davenport venue will host three sensational headliners in its May 19 presentation: Karl Beatty, Angela Meyer, and Michael Moncada.

With their most recent album Built to Spill Plays the Songs of Daniel Johnston lauded by American Songwriter as "a near-perfect marriage of pop rock sensibilities and lyrical sincerity," the revered indie rockers of Built to Spill headline a May 25 concert at Maquoketa's Codfish Hollow Barn, the musicians currently celebrating three decades of live performance and the forthcoming release of their 10th full-length recording When the Wind Forgets Your Name.
