WAVERLY, IOWA (June 17, 2019) — Wartburg College awarded diplomas to 225 students during Spring Commencement Sunday, May 26.

Those who graduated include:

Nicholas Arp, of Eldridge, Iowa who graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Biochemistry. He is the son of Kevin and Connie Arp.

Hannah Blaske, of Bettendorf, Iowa, who graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biology. She is the daughter of Gregory L and Linda K Blaske.

Megan Cowherd of Bettendorf, who graduated with a degree in Business Administration. She is the daughter of Sid and Kari Cowherd.

Mary Hines of Davenport, Iowa, who graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Music Education. She is the daughter of Michael and Nancy Hines.

Ryan Kurth of Davenport, who graduated with a degree in Business Administration. He is the son of Mike and Leah Kurth.

Benjamin McCullough, of Davenport, who graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Accounting and Business Administration. He is the son of William T and Peggy J McCullough.

Matthew Sacia, of Eldridge, who graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Biology. He is the son of Eric R and Stephanie J Sacia.

Claire Schroeder, of Rock Island, Illinois, who graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Elementary Education. She is the daughter of Edward L and Cynthia S Schroeder.

Dane Steidler of Eldridge, who graduated with a degree in Biology. He is the son of Tom and Karen Steidler.

Andrea Weiss, of DeWitt, Iowa, who graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Music Therapy (BME) and Music Education. She is the daughter of Jason and Janet Weiss.

Wartburg, a four-year liberal arts college internationally recognized for community engagement, enrolls 1,498 students. Wartburg is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and named after the castle in Germany where Martin Luther took refuge disguised as a knight during the stormy days of the Reformation while translating the Bible from Greek into German.
