WAVERLY, IOWA (May 21, 2026) — Annette Baker was recently recognized by the Iowa Broadcast News Association for media created at Wartburg College.

Baker, of Davenport, received first place in Best Sportscast, Student TV and third place in In-Depth Series, Student TV.

In total, Wartburg's student-run television and radio stations earned twenty awards, including nine top place finishes, in categories ranging from political and sports coverage to in-depth storytelling and podcast creation.

Knight Vision and KWAR are open to all Wartburg students interested in media creation. Knight Vision streaming features news and sports shows; streams home athletic, music, and chapel events; and includes the documentaries produced by students for RICE Day.

KWAR is Wartburg's student radio station, broadcasting to the Waverly area community. They are a top forty station with volunteer DJs at the helm. KWAR also covers local high-school sporting events.

The Iowa Broadcast News Association is a state-wide non-profit association made up of radio and television professionals serving Iowa and the surrounding states. Members work to improve the quality of electronic media production for both television and radio news programming.

Wartburg College is a four-year liberal-arts college internationally recognized for community engagement.
