BETTENDORF, IOWA (October 3, 2025) Bettendorf Middle School (BMS) is bringing color, energy, and community spirit to campus with its second Color Run, happening on Friday, October 10, 2025 during the final hour of the school day.

The event, themed “The Remix - Bigger & Brighter,” follows last spring’s successful inaugural Color Run, which brought students and staff together in a fun, high-energy celebration. This fall’s event promises to be even more colorful, with new features such as color bottles, Color Captains, and spirit-building competitions.

Purpose of the Event:

● To provide a positive, community-building experience for students and staff.

● To raise funds for BMS’s Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) programs, including: The Where Everyone Belongs (WEB) eighth/sixth-grade mentorship program

How Students Get Involved:

Each student will receive one complimentary color packet, with opportunities to purchase additional packets or earn them through school-wide competitions:

● Advisory Door Decorating Contest

● Clean Lunch Table Awards

● Homecoming Week Spirit Day Participation

Building Excitement:

To help spread the word, staff members and WEB leaders are serving as Color Captains, leading the way in school spirit and student engagement for the event.

“The Color Run is about more than just fun — it’s about building connections between students, staff, and families,” said principal Alan Hartley. “When our students feel part of something bigger, it makes our whole school stronger.”

“Every packet of color supports programs that matter deeply to our kids — the WEB mentor program helps 8th graders guide and welcome sixth-grade students,” added Annie Thomas, Color Run organizer.Community members and families are invited to support the event through donations. Those wanting to observe the event are invited to park at Cumberland Square and observe from the public sidewalk along Spruce Hills Drive.
