BETTENDORF, IOWA (August 13, 2025) — Bettendorf Middle School is gearing up for an exciting start to the school year with special events to help incoming sixth-grade students feel at home.

This week, students are invited to attend Moving to the Middle, a transition program designed to introduce them to their new school. Sessions will be held from 8:30–11:30AM and 12:30–3:30PM.

On Monday, August 25, the BMS WEB Crew — enthusiastic upperclassmen leaders—hosts a welcome for 6th graders on their very first day of school. WEB crew and staff will welcome students during line-up at 7:15AM. At 7:40AM, students will enter the building to exciting fanfare, pick up their t-shirts (if they didn’t attend Moving to the Middle), and kick off the day with a dynamic welcome assembly. The morning will also include breakout sessions designed to help students get to know one another and start building lasting connections.

Bettendorf Middle School is excited to welcome the Class of 2032 and begin the year with energy, connection, and community spirit.
