Rock Island, IL - For over 100 years, Christian Care has been serving the least, the last, and the lost in the Quad Cities. Currently, the 36-bed men’s homeless shelter is full with many still waiting and in need of shelter. Not only do those in need find a sanctuary and a place to begin transforming their lives at Christian Care, but the entire Quad City community relies on Christian Care to serve hot meals every day of the week, as well as, provide a warming station on the cold days which will soon be upon us. Every Thanksgiving, Christian Care serves an extra special feast “with all the trimmings”. This Thanksgiving Day, from Noon to 2:00 PM and 4:00 – 6:00 PM, Chef Kenny Anderson of Christian Care will prepare the traditional menu of turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, corn casserole and dinner rolls. For those of you who would like to provide assistance, pies, cakes, and salads are needed to complete the meal. If you are interested in donating or would like more details, please call 309-786-5734 and ask for Kenny.
