BETTENDORF, IOWA (May 12, 2026) — We are pleased to announce that Dave Kietzman has been selected as the interim Associate Principal at Bettendorf Middle School, beginning in July 2026, pending Board approval.
Kietzman currently serves as Dean of Students at Bettendorf Middle School, where he has led efforts focused on student support, school climate, safety protocols, and behavioral interventions since 2023.
“Dave is a student-centered leader who builds strong relationships with students, staff, and families,” said Alan Hartley, Bettendorf Middle School Principal.
“His leadership experience, collaborative approach, and commitment to supporting all learners make him an excellent fit for this role.”
Prior to joining Bettendorf Community School District, Kietzman served in teaching roles in Iowa and Missouri and completed a Summer Administrative Internship with the district in 2023.
Kietzman earned his Principalship Advanced Studies Certification from the University of Northern Iowa, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Northwest Missouri State University, and a degree in Elementary Education and Social Studies from St Ambrose University.
Kietzman will be replacing Rachael Dierickx, who moved to the interim principal position at Herbert Hoover Elementary.
