WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (October 22, 2025) — Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences and Beloit College, a private liberal-arts institution in Beloit, Wisconsin, have entered a new partnership that opens doors for Beloit students seeking graduate-level health sciences programs at DMU.

Effective October 2025, Beloit students who meet academic benchmarks will be eligible for guaranteed interview opportunities at DMU in the following programs:

  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
  • Doctor of Podiatric Medicine
  • Doctor of Physical Therapy
  • Doctor of Occupational Therapy
  • Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies
  • Master of Science in Anatomy
  • Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences
  • Interdisciplinary PhD in Biomedical Sciences

Two of these programs — Doctor of Podiatric Medicine and Doctor of Occupational Therapy — will also reserve one seat annually for a qualified Beloit student.

"Together with Beloit College, we're shaping a stronger health care workforce for the Midwest and beyond," says Angela L Walker Franklin PhD, DMU president and CEO.

"This partnership accelerates the pathway to a rewarding career in health-care for motivated students who are ready to pursue the education to get there."

Beloit students who meet established GPA thresholds and prerequisite coursework will receive an interview invitation to their program of interest if they fulfill the admissions criteria set by DMU.

"We are thrilled that this partnership makes pathways into health professions clear for our students," says Eric Boynton, president of Beloit College.

"Des Moines University has a long history of educating students to treat the body as a whole, and their comprehensive, holistic approach to medicine is an excellent companion to the skills students develop at Beloit College."

The partnership illustrates both institutions' commitment to improving access to advanced health-care education while maintaining academic integrity and student-centered values.
